West Coburg Bowling Club's AGM will be held in the Clubrooms on Sunday 26th May at 10.30 am.
PRESIDENT'S HANDICAP

WINTER BOWLS BONANZA
Join the 2013 Winter Bowls Bonanza at West Coburg starting Saturday 11th May and running up to and including Saturday 17th August.
FORMAT:
1. $8.00 greens fee per player including light refreshments.
2. Points will be awarded based on results as follows--
10 points to each player in the winning rink of the day
5 points to each player in the second best rink of the day
2 points to each player for attendance.
Points are accumulated by individual players for the duration of the competition with end of the “season” prizes as follows--
$300 winner
$200 second
$100 third
Players enter as individuals and must be registered by 12 midday each Saturday. Teams will be picked at random and players must be ready to start by 12.45pm.

ROUND 18 RESULTS
The top side, Division 2 had a very close game. They were well down at the break and finished with two rinks up with one rink drawing and only one rink down. This saved the team from relegation! Unfortunately the second side lost to Coburg/Moreland and so they will not play in the finals. The third side lost and will be relegated next season.
TV COMEDY SERIES FILMED AT WEST COBURG BOWLING CLUB

ROUND 17 RESULTS
Another bad round for West Coburg's top side against Moonee Valley, the bottom team on the ladder. The only winning rink was skipped by John Walsh, finishing ten shots up. The top side could face relegation if they lose the last game next week.
The second side had a close finish against Buckley Park, winning by an overall margin of 6 shots. The second side is still fourth on the ladder and must beat the fifth team, Coburg Moreland in next week's game to get a place in the finals.
The third side had a loss against Keilor and is still facing relegation.

ROUND 16 RESULTS
Another bad result for the top side against Craigieburn as three rinks lost and Gary Bannister's rink drew. However the second side won with three rinks up giving them a chance of getting back into the four. The third side also had a good win with three rinks up.
TWILIGHT BOWLS 14th AND 28th FEBRUARY & 14th MARCH
Casual clothing. Barbeque dinner at 6.30pm followed by 2 games of 2 bowl triples. 10 ends to be played.

A bad round for the Wests. All three sides lost. The top side now can't make the four and the second side is most likely out of the four.
ROUND 14 RESULTS
The West's top side defeated Montmorency (first on the ladder). Still need 2 good wins to get back in the four. The second side lost to Kingsbury and the third side lost to Buckley park.
ROUND 13 DEFEAT
The West's top side was defeated by Keilor, making it difficult to get back into the four. The second side had a good win against Glenroy putting them in the four.

The West's top side had a nail biting finish with one rink up and losing by an overall margin of four shots. The second and third sides both had a win, a great finish for the year!

The West's top side was defeated on all rinks by Broadmeadows. The second side had a win with two rinks up against Werribee and the third side had a great win against Sunbury with three rinks up.
ROUND TEN WIN
The West's top side defeated Moonee Ponds at home with two rinks up. The second and third sides were defeated in away games.

The West's top side lost on all rinks at Buckley Park on extremely heavy greens. The second side had three rinks up against Coburg/Moreland and the third side lost all rinks to Broadmeadows.

ROUND EIGHT WIN FOR THE WESTS
West Coburg's top side defeated Moonee Valley with two rinks up. The second and Third sides were defeated.
ROUND SEVEN SOOOO CLOSE!
West Coburg's top side lost to Craigieburn (undefeated) in a terrific game that went down to the wire. On the last end, Craigieburn was one shot up overall and The Wests had shot in the last finishing rink. Craigieburn's skip took out our shot bowl with his last bowl to win the game by 2 shots overall. West's second and third sides also lost.
THIRD SIDE WINNING RINK: ELLIOTT STILL UNDEFEATED!
TUESDAY NIGHT PENNANT VICTORY
The Wests won the first game of Division 1 Night Pennant. Playing at home, the Wests beat Glenroy on all rinks. Great start to the season!

ROUND 6 BACK ON TRACK
West Coburg's top side got back on track in Round 6, defeating Lalor on all rinks. Unfortunately the second side lost to Bundoora. The Third side played at home against Clifton Park with 3 new bowlers on board and had a great win on all rinks. Congratulations to our new bowlers: Elliott, Aaron and Zak!
ROUND 5 LOSS TO MONTY
The West's top side played away and lost all rinks to Montmorency. What a train wreck! The second side won against Kingsbury 77.25 to 77 shots- how close was that! The third side lost to Buckley Park.
ELECTRIC LIGHT PAIRS RESULTS

West Coburg's top side maintained it's winning form against Keilor at home on 18 seconds greens. Unfortunately the second and third sides lost their games.
ROUND 3 WIN AGAINST SUNBURY
Grant Letson, watched by Peter Raphael sends down a screamer!! West Coburg's top side won for the second consecutive time. The game was played at Sunbury and the Wests had 3 rinks up. Second side beat Clifton Park by 19 shots at home. Third side lost by 20 shots to Strathmore at home.
WIN AGAINST BROADMEADOWS
West Coburg's top side had all rinks up against Broadmeadows on Saturday October 13. The home greens were steaming hot and so was the West Coburg side.

WEST COBURG'S COMMUNITY GRANT
West Coburg Bowling Club has received a community grant for 2011 worth $3000 from Moreland Council.
The money will be be spent to buy sets of small bowls suitable for children to use.
At present schools, including the Australian International Academy and Coburg West Primary School, visit the club for bowls games and lessons, but have difficulty using the large size old bowls sets. The $3000 should buy 10 sets (of bowls.
